Reporting to the Technical Director, the BIM Director is responsible for leading all facets of virtual building construction during all phases of the construction process from pre-planning to close-out.

•   Familiar with BS1192-2 requirement
•   Familiar with the Cobie protocol
•   Set the BIM protocol for all BIM stakeholders
•   Create Charter of BIM work and seek approval by the stakeholders.
•   Lead the process of BIM Execution Plan development as per requirements of the contract.
•   Compile and finalize BIM Execution plan to agreement of all project‐related parties to create and utilize project information for estimating, logistics, planning, scheduling, supply chains, document control, workflows, coordination, field layout and/or facility management through multiple project phases as it relates to virtual design and construction process.
•   Facilitate for BIM Content creation by all responsible parties.
•   Liaison between designers and construction teams, to create and approve BIM Execution Strategy.
•   Lead meetings with lead BIM technicians and project BIM Team.
•   Select and Recruit BIM Coordinators within Project Mandate.
•   Participate and contribute to BIM scope inclusion in Trade Agreements for selected Trades.
•   Create documentation, procedures, processes related to BIM involvement in Design and Construction processes on the Project.
•   Develop, coordinate, publish, and verify all necessary configurations required for seamless integration of Model(s) and facility data.
•     Create recommend user‐friendly and organized/logical format of managing project submittals/ document control (3D models, shop drawings, product datasheets, other project related data) to streamline the process across the entire project team
•   Facilitate the transfer of information.
•   Disseminate BIM‐related best practices and procedures among the segments to ensure uniform deliverable.
•   Ensure that Modeling requirements and Level of Detail / Development guidelines are being adhered to.
•   Act as lead contact for BIM related issues with all relevant project stakeholders and manage collaboration between all parties.
•   Ensure project stakeholder compliance with the approved BIM Execution Plan.
•   Other duties and responsibilities as needed

Required Knowledge and Skills

•   Educational and Industry experience requirements include; Engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training plus experience/knowledge of Civil Construction practice.
•   Proficiency with computers especially with BIM software including;  REVIT, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley, NavisWorks, ProjectWise, Vico, etc
•   Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards etc. and their impact on project activities is vital.
•   Specific design or coordination experience with formwork would be an asset.
•   On site Construction Experience, would be an asset. 
•   Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence etc.) skills are essential. 
•   Excellent customer service skills, a passion for problem ownership, and a customer-first attitude.
•   Previous experience working in a similar role providing construction and technical support.
•   Proven experience in priority setting, multitasking, and working with minimal direct supervision.   
•   Ability to understand and apply knowledge from technical manuals required or finds solutions to technical issues using online resources.
•   Bilingual (French and English)
